Of all the places you can own a home, there is one place more important than all others. That place the Bible calls Heaven. When we leave this world, we will find ourselves in one of two places: Heaven or hell.
The Bible makes it clear that we can know that we have salvation. We can know that we have a home in heaven. Note these Bible truths:
#1. We are all sinners. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
#2. We face death and separation from God forever. Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
#3. Jesus paid our sin debt for us when He died on the cross of Calvary. "God demonstrated His love for us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
#4. If we trust Him from our heart, admit that we are sinners and ask Him to forgive our sins and save us, He will. Romans 10:13 "For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
If you come to Him, trusting Him, He saves!! That is what He came to this earth to do.
There are three words that describe our response to the Savior:
#1. RECEIVE. John 1:12 says, "But as many as received Him (Christ) to them gave He the power to become the children of God."
#2. BELIEVE. Jesus said that IF we will believe what He said, He would give us eternal life. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him would not perish, but have everlasting life.
#3. CALL. Salvation is as simple as making a call. Because of our sin, we need a Savior and we call Him. When we ask Him, He saves us.
Those are supernatural promises that God has made for us.
When we are saved, we have a salvation that includes all of this and more:
#1. Salvation. We are saved from the penalty of sin.
#2. Eternal life. Jesus said, "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish."
#3. The Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13, 14 tells us that the Holy Spirit seals us until the "day of redemption. That is when we will be home with the Lord in heaven.
#4. Forgiveness of sins. He forgives us of all sins.
#5. A home in heaven. Jesus said, "I go to prepare a place for you; and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself that where I am, there you can be also.
If you have never trusted Jesus to save you, please do so now. You will be thankful that you did - forever!!!
